ALL IN THE BREATH WORKSHOP FOR COVID TIMES
Sunday 26 April: 10.00 a.m –12.00 p.m
People are asking : Can we do breathing exercises to improve our lungs"? The answer: Yes!
Please join certified pranayama teacher Maxine Levy for a special online Sunday morning of carefully guided breath work to combat Covid 19. Covid is a respiratory virus. There are many steps we can take to protect against it.
Learning to control the breath helps keep mind and body healthy. Deep breathing techniques increase lung capacity and circulates fresh blood through the body, strengthening the respiratory, immune, circulatory and autonomic nervous systems to support our total well-being – much needed during these challenging times.
The workshop will incorporate asana – gentle movements and held poses – to activate our muscles of respiration. These can be done, sitting, standing or lying down. Maxine will then guide you step by step through breathing exercises and practices to improve the quality and quantity of your full vital lung capacity. Learn how to tune into your breathing patterns and discover techniques to manage and enhance the quality of your breath.
Maxine has been studying breath work and has been a practitioner for almost 20 years, with her teacher and mentor, pranayama master Sri O.P Tiwari, one of the most renowned yoga masters of today. The Sanskrit words 'pran' and 'ayam' translate as management and enhancement of the breath. Pran can also be interpreted as life force or vital energy.
Explore the specific science and fine art of pranayama. and expect to leave relaxed and more fit and feeling more confident with how to practice these life- changing breathing techniques in your own home practice.
